AirVape

AirVape recently released their new vaporizer the ‘AirVape X’ as an upgrade to the XS. It features an improved mouthpiece with magnetic closure, and a larger ceramic heating chamber than the previous model. It also features a 1300 mAh battery, a 1.3 Inch Screen so you can see the temperature, Precise temperature control that ranges from 200°F to 428°F, a sturdy metal body, and some other things that make the AirVape X into a pretty impressive vaporizer.

Update January 29th, 2022: After daily use for the past 3 years the USB port has become loose and would only charge with the cord in a specific position. Thankfully the wonderful customer service at AirVape helped me out with a warranty replacement. I am still as big fan of AirVape and this customer service support experience showed me they are still a company worth supporting.

What’s in the box?

Inside the box is the basics you need to get started. There is the Vaporizer on one side in a hard shell case and on the other side is the accessories box all in one spot.

Inside the accessories box you will find a standard charging cable, a dab tool/tamper combo for scooping the bud in and tamping it into place, a brush, a pair of tweezers, a replacement screen, and a concentrate insert to use waxes as well.

The case that the X comes in is a solid, durable, plastic case and it will protect the vaporizer and contain the smell in a backpack, purse or pocket.

How do you use it?

Using the AirVape X is simple. You simply pull off the magnetic mouthpiece, lightly pack your bud into the ceramic chamber, replace the mouthpiece, and power on the device.

Under the removable mouthpiece is the ceramic chamber. It comes with a screen pressed into the bottom that helps keep the device clean.

Finely grind your bud and lightly press it into the chamber. It should be packed tightly enough that it will stay in place, but not so tightly that it affects the airflow.

Then you put the mouthpiece on and you fire on the device by pressing the power button 3 times. Then you will see the screen power on and the temperature start to heat up. The image of the fan on the screen will spin and then stop when it’s done heating. It will also vibrate to tell you that it’s ready. Then you just take your hits and press the power button 3 times again to turn it off. You want to make sure that you take an additional hit after it turns off so that you can cool down the device and bud.

Repeat until your bowl turns a nice shade of brown. I keep mine at a light brown but you can vape it until it’s nearly black according to your tastes.

How well does it work?

I was very impressed with the AirVape X. It is small and fits into a pocket nicely and it has a screen so you can get a good idea of what’s going on. The X offers precise temperature control and goes so low that you have absolute control over what happens. It heats up fast and evenly, making for a smooth, tasty experience that is capable of producing some serious clouds. The battery is relatively small and does not last as long as many other vaporizers, but it does offer passthrough so that you can use it while it charges. You could hook it up to a battery bank and never run out of charge.

Cleaning is also made simple since the mouthpiece comes apart easily and allows you to clean every nook and cranny. It simply pops apart and pops back together.

Pros and Cons:

   Pros:

  • Slim, solid metal body for durability and style
  • Precise temperature control
  • Fast heating ceramic chamber
  • Screen so that you can see the exact temperature and easy to use controls.
  • Passthrough charging so you can vape while it’s charging.

   Cons:

  • Small battery that doesn’t last too long
  • Slim design doesn’t like to stay upright.

Conclusion

The AirVape X is a reliable, efficient vaporizer and does some things very well. The precise temperature controls lets anyone set the temperature they want for a personalized experience, the screen allows you to see it heat up and control it down to the degree. This device may not be right for a very heavy user unless they carry a battery bank with them, but for most people the battery should make it through the day. It quickly and evenly heats the bud and won’t combust allowing you to vape it as dark as you like. It also comes with the hard shell case allowing you to carry it anywhere without risk of damage.

Overall I really like the AirVape X and see myself using it a lot in the future. I give it a passing grade and recommend it for people who are casual to regular users.
