Dazzvape

Dazzvape (formerly known as Everoll) has been working on breaking out into the wax pen market and their newest device, the ‘Melter’ is their way of doing it. It looks and feels similar to Yocan products and it will be available for sale soon. I will be taking a close look at how well it works and how it compares to popular devices in the same price range.

What’s in the box?

In the box are some basic accessories. It comes with a charging cable, a dab tool, an alternative mouthpiece, a triple titanium quartz coil, and the Melter itself.

How do you use it?

The Melter works the same as most vape pens. It has a magnetic mouthpiece and the atomizer is threaded on. You just take off the mouthpiece and load a chunk of wax the size of a grain of rice and pulse the battery to soak the wax into the coils.

Then you inhale and press and hold the button at the same time. You hold the button for 2-5 seconds depending on how big of a hit you want. Then you release the button and continue to inhale for 3 or more seconds to cool down the wax and device.

The Melter also has an adjustable airflow so that you can take your hits just how you like them. It goes from a lot of resistance with the airflow holes closed, to almost no resistance with them all open.

The drip tip on the mouthpiece can be removed and replaced with a hard plastic mouthpiece if you wish. I prefer the standard straight one that it comes with.

There is also a small storage compartment on the bottom of the device. It can hold about half a gram of wax and will help you carry more on you. It is held in place with o-rings and friction and the cap of the container is threaded on.

The Melter also easily comes apart for easy cleaning.

How well does it work?

The Melter is simple to use and well designed. I was very impressed with how well it worked and how smooth it was. Using the ceramic donut coil with the Melter was one of the best experiences I’ve had with a wax pen in this price range. I prefer it more than the Yocan Evolve Plus or Magneto with ceramic donuts and it seems to be built even more solid than the Yocan products.

The coils fit well into the wax pen and don’t have a lot of space for concentrate to pool around them. This allows you to use your wax efficiently as it will not pool below the coil like many other wax pens.

The 1400mAh also allows you to use it for a long time before the battery needs to be recharged. It will easily last a full day of heavy use and should last a few days for most people. The powerful battery also allows you to get large clouds and hits if you hold the button down long enough.

You can also get cool and smooth hits by pulsing the button instead of holding it. The adjustable airflow also allows you to let a lot of air through making the hits even cooler.

With all of the customization features on the Melter you should have no trouble getting it to work well for you.

Anything else I need to know?

The Melter looks and feels very similar to a Yocan product at first, but the small differences make it a very nice wax pen to use.

Out of all the Yocan products it is most similar to the XL, but the coils on the Melter work much better than the Yocan coils.

The donut coil also has sloped walls which seems to allow the wax to stay on the donut better than straight walls. The donut coil also being almost flush with the walls ensures that you get the most out of your wax.

There is no cap with the coils but I have not had any splashing issues so far. Keep the loads low and you shouldn’t have any problems.

The battery is also not adjustable, but the temperature can be controlled by pulsing the battery or holding it for a shorter amount of time. I do not feel that it needs an adjustable battery.

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • Solid build
  • Low cost
  • Good coils
  • Large capacity battery
  • Built-in storage
  • Adjustable airflow

Cons:

  • Non-adjustable battery
  • No coil caps so large loads may splash

Conclusion

Overall I am very impressed with the Melter.  I personally think it does everything that Yocan does and better. At a cost similar to a Yocan Evolve Plus, it will be my new recommended device in this price range.

I will give the Melter a passing grade and hope that you check it out once it becomes available.

  1. Just found your blog through reddit, Great review! Covered a lot but I have a few questions, if you could kindly respond .

Is it a standard drip tip or proprietary?

Do yocan ceramic donuts work in the melter?
Do saionara donuts work in the melter?
Do melter donuts work in the the saionara?
(donut compatibility just on a mod, not necessarily on the melter battery)

How does the melter donut experience compare to the donut on the saionara?

    1. Hi! I’m happy to hear you found me through reddit. Glad you enjoyed it!

The drip tip seems to be a standard one. I don’t have any on hand to test it with though.

The Yocan ceramic donuts do work on the Melter but the mouthpiece doesn’t fit over it. However the Yocan Magneto mouthpiece does fit very securely on the Melter even though it has a smaller diameter and doesn’t look great.

I don’t have any Saionara donuts on hand to test. If the Saionara donut works with a Yocan pen then it would work with the Melter as they both use the same threading.

Yes, the Melter donuts work on the Saionara (or any other 510 mod as long as you use the base as well.)

The donut on the Melter is one of the best still when you consider its price, but the Saionara does work better. The Sai is hard to beat though.

I’ve really enjoyed the Melter and keep it by my bed with some really sleepy-time stuff loaded in it for quick hits. I prefer it over Yocan pens and donuts because it doesn’t have the hard to use caps and it seems to be more efficient.

If you have any more questions feel free to ask them here or on Reddit. I’m always on Reddit so there is a better chance I will see it there.
